The Sheriff Snowman

Frosty The Sheriff
After a very long summer of campaigning activities, my brother was elected Sheriff for our county in November.  I thought I would make one of my Cowboy Snowmen into a Sheriff for his Christmas gift.  I think it turned out pretty cute!

Western Door

The Cowboy
We have been doing several doors lately, they are wonderful in an entry way to hang hats, coats and catch it all.  This one is a tribute to The Cowboy.  We used old rusty saddle horns for the hangers.  I also made tile coasters of a bronc rider embossed in brown.  Even the snowman is a cowboy.   Hope you enjoy this tribute to The Cowboy.  It is kind of out of the norm from my normal lace and frills, but I do have Cowboys in my life and couldn't live without them and they are great enough to put up with all my frills and lace.

Playing Catchup

I have been sooooo busy lately and I have been a terrible slacker on blog posts.  I am on my hands and knees begging forgiveness to my followers and the ones that check in on it on a regular basis.  I was shocked to see that people were actually still looking at my blog, even though I have not made a post since October.  (I am hiding my head in shame)

I have been going to several craft shows trying to get out there to make contacts and meeting lots of new customers and friends.   Yesterday, I participated in my last craft show of the year.  Sad they are over, but ready for a reprieve and concentrate on the upcoming New Year and and getting ready to celebrate Christmas with my family. Today I thought I would sit down and share a few photos of some to the things that I have been doing.

I have been making Ruffle Angel wings and Little Elf Shoes. I must admit that I have become some addicted to making the elf shoes they are so much fun.

I made these last year but have been making more of the Grubby Reindeer Ornies and this year I decided to try the coasters in silver this year instead of the gold.  I really like the way the silver turned out.

I have inventory at The Mix in Ada, Oklahoma and I have recently swapped spaces and this is some of the photos taken of my new space.

I participated in Pink Friday in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.  Miranda Lambert held her grand opening of The Pink Pistol on Black Friday and she declared it Pink Friday in Tishomingo.  You know how I loooovvvvveeee Pink!!!  I had a booth rented in Creative Country for this event.  Found out 2 days before the event.  So needless to say I was doing some CRACK-A-LACKIN to get this pulled off.  Made it and all went well and I made lots of new contacts and enjoyed meeting many new friends.

In a nutshell this is what I have been doing over the last few months.   Thanks for staying with me during my blogging absence.

Melodie

I would like to share with you my newest lil' model, Melodie.  She is adorable all decked out in her  Shabby Chic Ruffle Bottom Onesie made by Shell's Vintage Charm.

Onesie has been tea stained for that vintage aged, shabby chic look for your baby girl.  The front has been decorated with a handmade flower from pink fabric.  The flower is sitting on a layer of lace.  The ruffled bottom has a pink fabric ruffle and two layers of lace, topped with a pink bow.

Until next time,

Vintage Door

Oh My Goodness! I can't believe how time has gotten away from me.  I have just now realized that I have not made a blog post in a whole MONTH.  I have been busy, busy, busy!  Did I mention that I have been BUSY? September seemed to disappear in the blink of an eye.  I was a vendor at the Amish Auction the first part of September and last weekend did a three day show for Sooner Trade Days.  Both were a success but left me scrambling for inventory as they were only two weeks apart.  Thanks to my awesome husband helping me out and be willing to step over my jumbled mess around the house it was accomplished.

I come up with all these ideas and he is the one that has to figure it out.  I thought I would share with you the latest Vintage Door that we made.  He does all the building and putting together and I get the fun job of painting it.   This one has more of the metal on it than the previous one.  Somehow, in all the hustling and bustling, I didn't get a picture of our first one before it sold.

Until next time.  Stay "Charmed!"

Princess in Training

Hi Everyone,

Hope that everyone is doing well and planning to have a wonderful Holiday weekend.   I will be busy getting my "Charm" on, preparing for the Amish Auction on September 8th.

I wanted to pop in and share with you this cute glass block.    It would be  really cute in a little girls room to use as a night light or just for decorations.   The picture really doesn't do it justice, it is soooo.... cute!  Love the sparkle of the tiara and wand nestled among the feathers of the boa.

I will be linking up with Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound.  Drop by for a visit and get inspired with all the Pink listings.

Memory Pillow

Memory Pocket Pillow

Today's post is short and sweet.  I have been busy getting ready for shows that I have signed up to participate as a vendor.  It seems as if things are coming together slowly and I am starting to panic, as the first one is only a few weeks away.  I know it will all be okay and I really should just quit stressing.

I thought I would share this  memory pocket pillow that I have made using a vintage doily.   This would be a lovely pillow to hold memories of cherished loved ones.  What you could put in the pockets are endless.  I bought this picture during one of my visits to an antique shop.  The postcard was made from graphics from the Graphic Fairy and then I just tucked in a vintage handkerchief.  I think I will make up a few of these for my booths.

Hope you are having a wonderful week.  I am linking up with White Wednesday at Faded Charm.

Rock N Roll Onesie

ROCK n ROLL BaBy

Hi Everybody,

Hope you are having a great week, luckily Friday is  just around the corner. I thought I would pop in and share a custom order that I made this week.  This customer was wanting one of my onesies, but wanted it with a little bit of Rock n Roll.  Hopefully, I pulled it off.  Love the trim that I found from Paper Mart.  It has that metal look but is soft and flexible for little ones.  Of course, it was hard for a pink lover to do a black and silver onesie, but I love the way that it turned out.

I will be making more in a few more colors.  At the moment I am taking custom orders on this style of onesie.  So feel free to contact me if you are interested.

Repurposed From Vintage Ceiling Tile

Fleur de lis

My newest design to go with the crosses and wings made out of the vintage ceiling tiles.  Really love the way this turned out.  This fleur de lis has been painted with pale Blue then a shaded with Key West.  Taupe and Terra Cotta was added to give it a rusty and aged effect.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful week.

Mixing It Up

MIXing It UP

I have taken a big step up with Shell's Vintage Charm, last night I moved into a vendor booth space at The Mix in Ada, Oklahoma.   It is a really awesome store and I hope that I do well!  It is exciting and frightening at the same time.  I will continue to sell items on Etsy and I am booked for craft shows until December.   I am going to be very busy!!!

I really must thank Angela and Victoria for helping me arrange and set up my space and for putting up with me and encouraging me along the way.  Thank you both!!!

Here are some of the pictures from my space.

This is old antique dresser belonged to my great aunt.  It was in pretty bad shape, so I decided to paint it with a coat of white paint and use it as a display piece.

View of the back wall space.

Ms. Shabby has joined me on adventure.

Antique ceiling tile crosses and wings.

Hope you have enjoyed the tour of my little booth.  As you can see I have plenty of room to grow and  I will be adding new items regularly. I am looking forward to this new adventure and hope you will continue to join me along the way.   I have made such wonderful customers and new friends since I have started Shell's Vintage Charm.

I will be linking up this week at White Wednesday at Fade Charm Cottage and Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound, be sure to go by and visit for all the lovely inspiration.

Shabby Chic Chicken Wire Dress Form

Dressed in her Shabby Chic Best

Remember those Chicken Wire Dress Forms that Frankie helped make me?  Well Miss Shabby, here, has been dressed up for any ShABbY CHiC occassion.  She has been paper mached, painted, mixed media collaged and is ready to go!  I have had this plan ever since we made the dress forms and just now getting around to making one.

As usual plans and ideas changed and ......  then in the end she just turned out the way she wanted!  She was determined to have a mind all of her own when it came to her wardrobe.  The back is just as pretty, she had to have a bustle!

More close up views

Hope you have enjoyed meeting Miss Shabby.

Miss Shabby and I will be linking up for Happy Pink Saturday, at How Sweet The Sound, be sure to go by and visit. They love pink almost as much as I do!  We will also be stopping by to party at Shabbilicious Friday Link Party, so come join us.

Shabby Chic Books

Repurposed Books

A short post for you today before I head off to work.  Ugh..... I would rather stay home and play.

Old torn and tattered books that I took and repurposed using lace roses, crinkle ribbons, doily and pearls.   I really love how the lace roses turned out.

Antique Tin Ceiling Tiles

I have fallen hopelessly in <3 LOVE <3 with vintage tin ceiling tile!!! Love looking at it and wondering where it was and the stories that it could tell.  I have been making these wonderful crosses and wings out of it.  The wings I have just started making as of yesterday, so you are getting the first look.
Frankie laughs at me because it KILLS me to cut it up.  One piece that actually matches the wings, I couldn't cut it up and so left it whole and will make it as a wall hanging of its own.

I am linking up with Happy Pink Saturday, be sure to go take a look.  A person can never have enough pink!

My New Find

Real or Replica?

I thought I would share with you my newest treasure.  Frankie and I were out and about a few weekends ago hitting some yard sales and local flea marts and happened upon these two items.  I must say that it was Love At First Site.  They came home with me and will become part of my display when participating in shows.

I have no idea if they are real vintage or replicas, but either way they will work perfectly.  Some have told me they are replicas, because of the curves on the handles.  I have found the carriage on Ebay and it looks exactly like it and it says it is vintage, but then some say replica.  This Saturday we went to McKinney, Texas to the Third Monday Flea Mart and there was a vendor with the exact carriage and she said hers was a 1920 doll carriage.   So I am still not sure if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.    I can't wait to get them cleaned up and start using them.

Magnolia Festival

Hi Everyone!  Hope that everyone is doing well and I must appologize for not posting in awhile.  I have been trying to get ready for the Magnolia Festival.  It started this Wednesday and ends Saturday night at 10:00 p,m.  This is the first show event for Shell's Vintage Charm, so I thought I would share some pictures of my booth space.

I was so afraid that I wasn't going to have enough items to fill up my spot.  Was really stressing and in a panic for no reason.  It turned out fine and is soooo cute.   I am getting good responses, comments and making contacts, so all is well.

Remember that dresser without a back and no drawers in a previous post that I rescued from a house that was being torn down.  Well my husband worked some Vintage Charm of his own and made me an area for my purchases.  I love it!!!  I will be doing a more detailed post on it very soon.

Yard Sale Treasures

Hi Everyone!  Hope your week has gotten off to a wonderful start and you had a very Happy Mother's Day.  I have been busy getting ready for the Magnolia Festival and have been  BUSY!!!  I have even had my husband helping me out this weekend.

I thought I would share my new found treasures.  I went to a fantastic yard sale during my lunch break the other day and then decided that I had to go back during break for more.   Candlesticks,  buckets, tables and suitcases just waiting for a touch of "Vintage Charm."

The first items to be "Vintage Charmed" was the green table and the tall candlestick in the back.  I painted both of them white and then distressed it for a shabby chic look.

The table received some extra attention. I used my one of my favorite graphics from The Graphics Fairy blog and enlarged it using Block Posters. Then using my new favorite technique... I printed it out on wax paper and then took a credit card and transfered it to the table top off center. Then lightly went over it again with some sand paper for a time worn look.  (You can find some great transfer techniques here from the Graphics Fairy. )

Linking up with Brag Monday at The Graphics Fairy and White Wednesday at Faded Charm.  Go take a look at all the wonderful projects.

Repurposed Cabinet Door- French Inspired

Do you every have projects that just will not come together?  You can see it in your mind but it just does not turn out the way you are seeing it in your mind.  So FRUSTRATING!!! I began working on repurposing this old cabinet door a couple of weeks ago. I had found the prefect graphic that I was going to use from The Graphics Fairy, knew that I wanted to use the Beach Sparkle and White paint and that it had to be distressed.  I also was seeing lace and flowers there, too.  So I begin.   Long story short it looked horrible.  So I sent out an SOS to everyone who would listen to me whine and offer me advise.  (Thanks to my wonderful advisers out there).  I started trying different things that were suggested, still not liking it.  Finally just now I have decided that it is finished and maybe I am trying to put way to much thought into it.  Not everything have to be covered in lace and loaded in fufu.  (Okay, now the ones that know me well are wondering if I have fallen and bumped my head.  That is totally a statement I would not make!)  So here it is......finally finished (maybe).

I am linking up at Brag Monday at The Graphics Fairy.  Be sure to visit The Graphics Fairy site you will love all the wonderful graphics ther!!!

Lace and Burlap

A Touch of Class goes Country

I love the tea stained lace and the pearls on the burlap.  The lace is definately the "Chic" on these Shabby Chic placemats.  I will be placing this set on my Etsy Shop.
