New Products.

Magnolia Festival and New Products
Hi Everyone!

Hope your summer is getting off to a wonderful start.  I thought that I would share some pictures, that I took during the Magnolia Festival last week.  I had a wonderful show and met some wonderful new friends.

This is a picture of another one of my chicken wire mannies.  She turned out really cute!  During the process of her creation, she has ended up with me naming her Ariel.  She started out being much taller and had legs (or her lower portion) that reminded me of a mermaid.  During the course of adding all of her shabby vintage charm she was becoming top heavy and I ended up having to cutting off the lower portion to make her more stable.

I found the old window screens during one of my junking outings and  turned them into a display to hang some of my items on during the festival.  Really liked how things looked displayed on them.  I have been thinking about adding them to my decor somewhere in the house.  (Shhh.... don't tell my Mr. Prince Charming).  They were perfect to display some of my new metal letters.  If you look closely you can also see some of the smaller dimensional wings on the upper corner.

My Angel wings made from the old vintage ceiling tiles have taken on a whole new dimension.  I love the way they turned out and were a huge success.  I like the smaller ones, but have fell in love with the larger ones.  I will be making more of these soon to go into my booth spaces and Etsy Shop.

I had been getting lots of request to make vintage inspired headbands and hair clips.  So I have recently began making and offering some of the above Shabby Flowers for sale.  A few of them are actual pins that look awesome pinned to a hat or any accessory that needs that special WOW

There are other plans in the works for some more vintage inspired products.  I want to thank everyone that takes the time to follow me and all of the wonderful support and encouragement I get. I hope to continue to grow. The confidence that you show in me when asking me to make your special custom order means so much to me.

Stay Charmed,
Shelley

Shabby Chic Wall Sconce

Wall Sconce before it was "Vintage Charmed."

I bought this brassy looking wall sconce on my last trip to Canton.  Loved the flowers on it and was already thinking they would look great with just a little touch of "Vintage Charm"and paint, of course.

Sooo... with a little bit of cleaning and spray paint and brushing on some pink this is how it was transformed.

Ok, I know what you are thinking why did she hang a wall sconce for candles on her door?  I was looking for a place to take pictures that would show off some of the detailing.  It has been sanded after painting and in some areas left to show black under tone and others I let the brass shine through.  Then after hanging it on the door, all kinds of ideas started flickering through my mind.

It really looked awesome hanging on my white door and I could envision it being used as a wreath holder.  Don't you think it would look cute holding a wreath of lovely flowers?  It hangs perfectly on the wall and would also make a jewelry holder, as well.  It has all kinds of possibilities.  It would also be cute just as it original intention in life as a candle holder with either glass votives or just taper candles.

I am linking up with Pink Saturday, go take a look at all the lovely pink items.

Chair Makeover

One person's trash is another person's treasure!!!

Yes, I admit it!!! I brought home this chair that was completely falling apart and everyone thought it was ready for the scrap pile. The arms were rotting and broken, basically all that was left of it was the frame.   While out visiting my friends, Angela and Dan, I found this treasure.  Yes, it was a beautiful treasure in my eyes.  They all thought I was crazy, but I rescued my chair and with the help of Frankie, my "ugly" chair was transformed.

Frankie cut and made new arms, back and bottom, while I sanded off what seemed like tons of rust to get it ready for paint.  It was then spray painted  off white.  After that I took some Martha Stewart paint and swiped (with my fingers) gray paint and then wiped and rubbed it off in places to give it the look that I was wanting.  Then came the task of  covering the seat and back.

I am proud of the makeover and couldn't have finished it without the help of Frankie, it was a team effort.   Ok, yes..... I am tooting my own horn, but I love it, love, love, love it!!!!

Missing Parts and Somewhat Wobbley

It's true, I am a junkie.  These pictures prove it!!!  I will bring home anything, today at lunch a co-workers, husband was nice enough to load my new found treasures in my car.  I love them, no matter what others may say.  I see a hidden treasure among the missing tops and drawers.
The house next to our office is being torn down and of course I had to go and take a look for hidden treasure.  The fire department has been using it for training soooo.... just let you imagination soar on that for a while.  Soot and smokey smell!!! Did not make for a pleasant drive home for my nose, but my mind was happily business planning what they could become.  Hoping that tomorrow I will be able to go back and get more windows and doors before the bulldozer gets to it.
Turned out to be a good day all the way around for junkin.  Frankie found an old mattress at his next job site and cut me off some of the bed springs. Oh and there were some old hardback books and I brought a couple of them home, too.   A friend has purchased my great aunts house and is tearing it down and she gave me some of the old tongue and groove boards.
Stay tuned to see what transformations I have in mind.

Have a "Charming" weekend!

Weekend Adventures Junkin

I had a fun day of junkin, yesterday. Frankie and I met some friends at Siponki West, they were having a flea market and I found lots of new treasures to repurpose and use in projects. Siponki West is a place that is set up as an old western town setting with the buildings. The buildings are also museums, they also have a resturant, I think it was in the Saloon. We didn't stay for the gunfight, but maybe I can catch it next time. I found lots of vintage crochet lace and doilies, old bottles, vintage buttons, old pictures, lampshades and a set of dishes that have never been opened. Oh yeah, almost forgot I found my chicken wire ladies some old faux pearls. Dispite being framed and tossed in jail, by my own husband!!! I really enjoyed it and can't wait till they have another flea market.

After leaving the Wild West, Frankie and I went to some more antique shops and I found a wooden sled, more great pictures, key, and a metal lunch box, that reminds me of my grandpa.
