Sweet Caroline our Glamper and Mobile Boutique

Sweet Caroline made her Grand Debut

After a few set backs, and months of hard work, blood, sweat and tears, my dream is finally taking shape and seeing the efforts of all our (got to give my Prince Charming, his fair share of the credit, too) work.  We still have a few things that we need to do, like the counter top, but all and all she is at least presentable and we were able to use her.  We finally had a Grand Debut with her this past Saturday, during A Touch of Rust in Stillwater, OK.  Although, I do plan to use her as part of my mobile boutique, I didn't put any inventory to sale inside on this trip. I think that she was a success and she had lots of traffic, coming and going out of her little door.

Sharing pictures from our set up and her interior.

Updated Website

Hi Everyone!  Wow, this month has almost completely slipped away from me. I have  no idea how it went so fast.  I also can't believe that Christmas is just right around the corner.  I have updated my website today, with some new products and will begin adding some new Christmas designs along the way.   Go visit my webpage at Shell's Vintage Charm.com.

The Ole Rugged Cross

The Ole Rugged Cross

Hi, Everyone!  Hope your week is going well.  It has been busy and non-stop for me, but a good one.  My stitches are healing and I am starting to feel much better after having my small surgical procedure on Thursday to remove the inflamed cyst that had been making me feel so bad.  Friday night Mr. Prince Charming and I sat up my booth space to be prepared for the Annual Amish Auction bright and early Saturday morning.  The weather was very corporative and couldn't have asked for a better September day in Oklahoma.   There was a great turn out and as always it is so nice to meet new friends and customers and catch up with returning ones.  I love to hear the stories of how they are using something they have purchased from me in the past.
Needless to say my big adventure this week has been trying to replenish and make new items to put into my booth for the upcoming show.  I will be at Sooner Trade Days located at the Durant Choctaw Casino starting Friday, September 20th thru Sunday, September 22nd.  Drop by for a visit and see what I have been working on.  I may even have a few items available to start your Christmas decorating or shopping.  ( I hear that Christmas is only 97 days away.)
I have started another exciting adventure this week that will be on going.  I am now a Proud member of Shabby Cottage Shops.  Shabby Cottage Shops is a great online shopping mall, go by and take a look at all the terrific shops.  I can't wait for all the new adventures that this will be bringing.  Totally EXCITED about all the possibilities!!!
Well enough of my rambling for today, I want to share with you The Ole Rugged Cross.  I have had this idea in my head for a while and finally went out and got the piece of old vintage ceiling tile that I had been saving just for this project.  Mr. Prince Charming looked at me like I had lost my mind.  He thought it was too rusty and in bad shape and that I shouldn't bother.   Sooooo..... I thought well maybe he is right.  (Shhhh....don't tell him I said or thought that!) I kept going back picking it up and looking at it.   Yeah, I thought I can do this, it is going to look AWESOME! Yes, it has ragged edges and it has lots of rust, and the paint is chipped.  But....you know what I always say " The more rust and chippy the better!"  I got out the sander and wire brush and went to town on the rust.  After getting it all cleaned up, Mr. Prince Charming decided that maybe I was right (he didn't say that out loud, but I know he had to be thinking it), cut a board to be placed behind it for me and helped me attach the cross.   I LOVE IT!!!  I think about the song we sing in Church about the Ole Rugged Cross when I look at it.  I think it turned out really cute, just the right amount of chippy and rust for the cross.  I would love to keep it for myself, but I have a friend that reminds, me all the time that you can't keep everything you make for yourself.   (Sigh)

Wonderful White Wednesday

It's A Wonderful White Wednesday!

Today I am  sharing some of my latest white projects with you today.

I love making Memory Pillows.  Pillow is  made with two ruffles on outer edges only.  Edges are frayed.  The doily that was picked up at a flea market and I added buttons for details.  The upper corner is decorated with scraps of fabric tied into a bow, bits of lace with lace rolled rose and bling center. Inside the pocket, I have tucked my favorite vintage picture of my Great Grandmother Bessie. and a graphic image from The Graphic Fairy.  I didn't know my Dad's grandmother, but I often what she would think about becoming part of my branding logo and in so many of my projects.  What special items would you put in your Memory Pillow?

Large White Angel Wings have been cut from vintage ceiling tile.  The wings are so pretty hanging on a wall or sitting on a shelf.  Lots of versatile ways to display to add the perfect compliment to your shabby chic décor.

The frame was repurposed from a broken clock picture.  I replaced the broken glass and picture with chicken wire.  This makes the perfect memo holder with the clothespins that have been painted pink with some fluff and buttons.  Chicken wire also makes great bow holders for your little ones or use as a jewelry holder for yourself.  Possibilities are endless!

Flowers is the upper corner is a Vintage Shabby Chic Inspired Headband.  Includes 3 roses made from lace with a bling center on a torn and tattered doily with pink crinkle ribbon and string loops of pink seed beads.

Dimensional wings are also made from vintage ceiling tile.

New Products.

Magnolia Festival and New Products
Hi Everyone!

Hope your summer is getting off to a wonderful start.  I thought that I would share some pictures, that I took during the Magnolia Festival last week.  I had a wonderful show and met some wonderful new friends.

This is a picture of another one of my chicken wire mannies.  She turned out really cute!  During the process of her creation, she has ended up with me naming her Ariel.  She started out being much taller and had legs (or her lower portion) that reminded me of a mermaid.  During the course of adding all of her shabby vintage charm she was becoming top heavy and I ended up having to cutting off the lower portion to make her more stable.

I found the old window screens during one of my junking outings and  turned them into a display to hang some of my items on during the festival.  Really liked how things looked displayed on them.  I have been thinking about adding them to my decor somewhere in the house.  (Shhh.... don't tell my Mr. Prince Charming).  They were perfect to display some of my new metal letters.  If you look closely you can also see some of the smaller dimensional wings on the upper corner.

My Angel wings made from the old vintage ceiling tiles have taken on a whole new dimension.  I love the way they turned out and were a huge success.  I like the smaller ones, but have fell in love with the larger ones.  I will be making more of these soon to go into my booth spaces and Etsy Shop.

I had been getting lots of request to make vintage inspired headbands and hair clips.  So I have recently began making and offering some of the above Shabby Flowers for sale.  A few of them are actual pins that look awesome pinned to a hat or any accessory that needs that special WOW

There are other plans in the works for some more vintage inspired products.  I want to thank everyone that takes the time to follow me and all of the wonderful support and encouragement I get. I hope to continue to grow. The confidence that you show in me when asking me to make your special custom order means so much to me.

Stay Charmed,
Shelley
